It's our secret hideaway and We've been Camping here for over 40 years. Camp fires allowed. Very basic but clean, the site owner Gwilym's friendly and knowledgeable and is always on hand for any problems, but to be honest I've never seen any problems at all.

Great spot for camping. The views were incredible. Toilet/showers were clean. We just pulled in and set up the tent where there was room. The owner came out later on. We had a chat and bought some firewood.

Tyddyn Du Campsite was established in 1944, 75 years ago and is still run by the same family today. Some of our regular customers have been returning for over 40 years!

The site is located in the middle of ancient oak woodland, and overlooks the Mawddach Estuary which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). It's an excellent area to see many different wild fowl and other bird varieties.

The site is around 8 acres in size with varied camping opportunities - from covered, sheltered woodland camping spaces to wide open areas nearer the estuary itself.

The facilities are basic but kept in very good, clean condition, with toilets and powerful, hot showers.

- Electric Hookup

Several electric hookup points are available (by arrangement).

- Drinking Water

Drinking water is available from an external tap.

- Chemical Toilet Disposal

Chemical toilets can be emptied in the dedicated disposal facility near the toilet/shower block.

- Campfires

Small campfires are permitted and logs are sold on-site at £4 per bag.

We're a dog-friendly campsite. Dogs are expected to be kept under control.

There are plenty of activities in the area. The historical seaside town of Barmouth is just five miles away. One of the best mountain biking centres in Britain, Coed Y Brenin, is located just 9 miles away. Also there are opportunities for walking, cycling and fishing nearby.
